DISCIPLESHIP MINISTRY

Community Groups

Sometimes called Small Groups or Life Groups, Community Groups at Christ Church are weekly fellowship groups that meet throughout Vero Beach on various weekdays and evenings. The groups focus on a topical Bible study, reflect on a sermon or teaching, or share some other faith-building discipline.

The group size of 7-12 people allows for more direct sharing and is ideal for those seeking opportunities to meet new friends and grow in the Christian faith.

For more information, please email the Church Office or call Fr. Hunter Van Wagenen at 772.562.8670.

Thursday Morning Bible Study

Among this diverse group are working professionals who are able to attend the Bible Study on Thursdays from 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. The study includes in-depth teaching and open discussion, and all materials are provided at each class.

Women’s Bible Study

This group’s diversity in age and life experiences promotes spiritual growth and rich friendships. Always open to newcomers, a previous knowledge of the Bible is not required. They meet weekly on Wednesdays at 9:30 - 11:00 am from September through June.

SUPPORT MINISTRIES

Anglicans for Life

Anglicans for Life is a Christ-centered ministry that provides resources to churches in the Anglican Communion, to help them bear witness to the sanctity of life.

Our Christ Church Vero Beach chapter exists to advocate the sanctity of human life. In addition to national prayer vigils and Stand For Life participation, we support Care Net of Indian River and weekday sidewalk prayer ministry at the Woman’s World center in Ft. Pierce.

Seasons

This newly formed group of Christ Church members meets to support one another prayerfully, emotionally, and socially as they are adjusting to a new season of life after the loss of a loved one.

For more information about their scheduled activities, please email Deacon Kim Allen or call 772.562.8670.

GriefShare

GriefShare is currently on hiatus at Christ Church.

Any of our clergy are available to people seeking ministry support during a grieving process as well as our Seasons group ministry (see above). To inquire about resuming GriefShare sessions, please email the Church Office or call 772.562.8670.

WOMEN'S MINISTRY

Women of all ages and stages need a break from the routine hustle and busyness that comes with our modern culture. We meet on Wednesday mornings from September through June for a time of encouragement and Bible study.

We also host special events or join other local ministry events and organizations that support the social, emotional, spiritual needs and interests of women. For more information, please email Deacon Kim Allen or call 772.562.8670.

Daughters of the Holy Cross

The Daughters of the Holy Cross is a religious order of women who take a solemn, life-long vow to live faithfully by a Rule of Prayer and a Rule of Service.

These women have committed their lives to the work and service of Jesus Christ and they pray daily for our church, its clergy, the Order, and others in need. Guided by the Holy Spirit, they share the gospel message through word and deed and enjoy their bond of sisterhood.

DOHC meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month at 11:00 am followed by a casual lunch. To attend a meeting as a guest, please contact Bernadette Longden at 262-498-3750.

For more information on the meetings or joining the Order, please email the Church Office or call 772.562.8670.

Military Moms Prayer Group

This interdenominational prayer group consists of mothers and other women whose loved ones are enlisted in the US Military.

They meet year-round at Christ Church weekly on Thursdays at 5:00 pm in the Community Center to pray for the troops, support one another during difficult separations, and find solace knowing their desire to protect their loved ones can be accomplished in the spiritual realm through prayer.

Military Moms is open to the community and always welcomes guests and new members. For more information, visit their website or call Pam Proctor at 772.231.2221.
