Lenten Noontime Prayers Start Thurs., March 7
Each weekday at 12 pm during the Lenten season, the Great Litany will be prayed at Christ Church. The Noontime service will begin on Thurs., March 7 at 12 pm and will occur each weekday through Fri., April 12. The service will last 15-20 minutes, will be led by staff members and Lay Eucharistic Ministers, and will include a brief opportunity for mention of those who are ill.
The Great Litany is the earliest liturgical worship service translated from Latin into English by Archbishop Thomas Cramner, and first published and authorized for use in the year 1544. Included in every Prayer Book since 1549, this series of petitions and acknowledgments of our shortcomings has been used by Anglicans in seasons of penitence and crisis, as well as historically for springtime crop planting prayers, known as “rogation” for more than four centuries.
Lenten Soup Suppers Start Wed., March 13 - April 10
Plan to join us on Wednesdays during Lent for simple Soup Suppers at 6:15 pm followed by lessons at 7 pm. There are two classes offered this year. Brady Johnson will lead High and Holy Days – Exploring the worship of Lent, Holy Week and Easter, that will explore the history, meaning, and forms of the most unique and powerful worship offerings of the Christian liturgical year. (Read more here.)
The second class will have various moderators leading a DVD series by Pastor Tim Keller, A Journey Through Lent: Reflecting on Christ’s Sacrifice for Us. This study of the Psalms can serve as instruction for those looking to spend a season of Lent in reflection and repentance in preparation for celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday. (Read more here.)
Please RSVP to the Church Office at 772-562-8670 or on the Friendship Form with a note of your class selection so materials can be acquired.

Wednesday Morning Women’s Bible Study
The Women’s Bible Study/Discipleship Group meets each Wednesday morning in the 9.23 Community Center. We gather at 9:15 am for coffee, followed by teaching and discussion from 9:30 - 1 pm and continue our study of King Solomon and following him, the kings of Judah. Emphasis is placed on self-examination and the application of Scripture, that we may continually mature as fruitful disciples of Christ in both word and deed. Please come prepared with a Bible and notepad for any thoughts you might wish to record. Come and join us.
Adult Bible Study
The Adult Bible Class meets each Thursday morning in the church's Conference Room 2. Coffee and donuts are served at 7:10 am; we end promptly at 8:30 am to accommodate our working members. All material is provided at each class and can be mailed to you upon request if you miss a week. The class is taught by Rev. Bill Earman (ret.) and is continuing a study of the Book of Exodus. Make a joyful noise to the Lord! So says the Psalmist and we need some new "noise-makers" to support the Classic service music in our Christ Church Choir! Rehearsals are each Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. in the Choir Room. Only requirements are a willing heart, time to attend rehearsals and Sunday services, and the ability to carry a tune! Brady Johnson, with assistance from our veteran choristers, will do the rest! If interested, please call Brady at the Church Office – 772.562.8670 – any week day except for Fridays.
