A LETTER FROM FATHER KEITH ALLEN
March 12, 2020
Dear Christ Church family,
As the shepherd of Christ Church, it is my desire to lead and love the flock of Christ through this time of trial with our eyes focused on Jesus, The Great Shepherd. I want to call us to prayer and faith as we face the spread of COVID-19. Please daily pray for those on the front lines of this fight in our healthcare systems. In addition, pray for our leaders to come together and make policy decisions that will serve well our nation. Pray for our businesses and those in the corporate sector as they will face challenges in these days, too. Finally, pray for our Archbishop and Bishop as they seek to guide all clergy and parishes under their care.
In addition to prayer, we will make some practical changes to how we live life and faith together. Because of the outbreak of the new Coronavirus and out of an abundance of caution, I am requiring that we change the way we observe Holy Communion until further notice. As a health precaution, Christ Church will administer only the Bread at Holy Communion. Please remember that receiving only the Bread is considered a full reception of Holy Communion by the Church. We will also not be Passing The Peace by physical contact.
I also want to suggest that due to the possibility of the spread of the Coronavirus, older individuals who are 'immune compromised' should consider worshiping at home on Sundays until further notice. Anyone with any symptoms of cold/flu should stay home and self-quarantine. Anyone who has traveled in any affected area of this country, or another country with an outbreak, must stay home and self-quarantine. If you need to self-quarantine please join us for worship through our live-stream, which can be accessed through our webpage at www.christchurchvero.org
With love and hope in Christ,
WHAT IS LIVE-STREAM?
Live streaming refers to how we record and broadcast our worship service over the internet in real time, allowing people who cannot be with us physically to experience the service with us online. With internet access, you simply click the LIVE STREAMING tab here around 10:30 am on Sunday mornings and you can open a bulletin, send in a prayer request, sing, pray, and listen to the readings and sermon right along with us.
